Party Information – Please see your child’s SOAR folder for the May 7th East Lake Park permission form. Students will be taking the Drew Charter Bus to the park at 10am. Several parents are working to coordinate food, grilling, and games. I am super excited about celebrating yet another fun year with my SOAR children.
Chess – We continued the Italian Opening and 2 Knights Defense. Students chose a partner and played. Ask your child if he/she remembers the opening moves for white/black? If you play chess, challenge your child to explain why the pawns/pieces move to certain squares.
Math Maven - (see SOAR folder) Our detectives solved the case of the Mysterious Money Trail. In this case, sleuths determined the next number(s) in a pattern. We evaluated the pattern of the Fibonacci sequence. Ask your child is he/she remembers the pattern of Fibonacci – discussed briefly in class. If you or your child wants to develop your Fibonacci knowledge visit: http://easyscienceforkids.com/fibonacci-numbers-in-nature-video-for-kids/
