Trivia Question – We began our class by putting our research skills to test by exploring Drew’s Trivia Question of the Day: Who was the 1st African-American woman and slave who published a book of poems?
Friday Question - Name a current person fighting for civil rights.
Cause/Effect – We completed a simple cause an effect activity to reinforce what they’ve learned in their regular classrooms. (see SOAR folder)

Using research skills, students used the internet to find 5 unique facts about the forest. Some students are able to navigate the internet independently whereas others refer the website I provide: http://www.skyenimals.com/browse_habitat.cgi.
Today’s research task: 5 facts about temperate forests, list 3 animals, write 1 fact about each animal, & illustrate. Ask your child about any interesting facts he/she learned.
