PBL – How can exploring Ancient Egyptian culture and architecture help me design a sustainable building? We reviewed the timeline on Ancient Egypt i.e. negative numbers, invention of the calendar, BC/BCE, etc. Next, we read a packet regarding the Ancient Egyptian pyramids. The packet explained the year built and evolution of the pyramids. As a class we researched the size of some pyramids and discussed the mathematical/engineering precision of the pyramids as compared to current architecture. Last, students researched 5 facts (their choice) and labeled their pyramids with the facts. I’ll keep the pyramids for our PBL night in December.
