Creativity – Students wrote a creative story using their Halloween costume as the main character. Ask to read your child’s story (creativity skills). NOTE: I made sure everyone celebrated Halloween before assigning this activity.
Ancient Egypt PBL – Research/Design – Students started working on the research for their pyramids. Students will illustrate and build a pyramid out of recycled materials. As part of the project students will include: a constructed pyramid, the pharaoh’s name (in hieroglyphs), the years the pharaoh ruled, items taken into the afterlife, the location of the pyramid, and three other facts about the pharaoh. Please talk to your child about what recycled materials he/she will need to build the pyramid – imagine a 2’ tall pyramid. (reading comprehension & advanced research skills).
