PBL – “How do I create an educational science game that parents and children will enjoy?” – Today we spent the day writing and completing our Lego stories. Students worked in groups to write a creative story using their Lego creation as the main character or setting – depending on their creation. Next, Students created a backdrop scene and props to use in their story. Last, students acted their stories for the class. (see pictures on Facebook). NOTE: You know it’s an engaging activity when you tell the children to break for snack and they choose to continue working while eating.
Once finished, we read, “400 Billion Lego Bricks—and Still Counting” an informational text about the invention of Legos. We discussed the article, answered questions, and compared the creation to Minecraft as outlined in our previous article.
NOTE: - Thursday's group will also have our chess lesson and centers. Tuesday's groups had some catching up to do in lieu of the storm.
