Logic Puzzles – This week we completed a new type of logic puzzle. Most children were able to solve “Foxy Tricksters” independently; however, a few children are having a tough time. Ask your child how he/she solves these puzzles and if he/she needs additional practice.
Chess – Today I invited the children to choose a partner and play chess. I am happy to hear the stories of children buying chess sets and/or apps. Here are 5 skills that chess teaches kids: https://www.chess.com/article/view/5-skills-chess-teaches-kids
PBL – “How do I create an educational science game that parents and children will enjoy?” Student groups used their Lego creations to write a story/play that they will act out next week. Students will create a scene and props to use during their “production.” The students are quite engaged in this activity, and as a result, we did not attends centers.
