PBL – “How do I create an educational science game that parents and children will enjoy?” Today we began “Asking” what topics we would like to create a game. As we “began” to imagine the possibilities of game ideas, we share our ideas on the board and narrowed to a select few. Students wrote their preferred game topic on a card and submitted it. Students have the choice to select their topic, work alone, or with a partner. Student pairs were discussed and selected based on number of students, topics, etc. (see brainstorming topic picture below - Tuesday Group). (DESIGN PROCESS – Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve, Share).
Chess – Today chess players played chess and learners played the pawn game.
NOTE: In preparation for PBL night, the SOAR students spent some time in a PBL rotation with their regular class. SOAR will not showcase during this PBL; however, I will be around checking out the hard work of our students. SOAR will showcase during the 2nd PBL.
