PBL – How can I evaluate and promote my community? Students took the time to investigate the 8 categories (see below) and choose a category of interest. Students will work with partners to create their web site. We also watched a Falcons promotion video to show a way to excite one’s intended audience – ok also a personal agenda – RISE UP!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUL7zQRC98M (Advanced Research Skills).
Local Leaders, Community Groups & Special Populations, Businesses & Organizations, Local Specialties, Sports, & Health Local Attractions (Natural/Mad-Made), Historical Landmarks, Environmental Awareness & Issues, and Local Music & Art.
Critical & Creative Thinking – Students completed “Q&A” (see photo attachment below and/or SOAR folder). The children wrote and discussed creative, yet realistic conclusions (Creative Thinking Skills).
Math – Students solved a math problem, “Happy Birthday.” Students used creative ways to calculate their age and birthday. Try it with your child.
Centers – We end the day playing a variety of mind challenging/creative games such as: Chess, Pivot, SET, Qwirkle, and 24.
