Analogies - Independently, students completed a series of analogies. Some students are still struggling a bit. You can check your child's SOAR folder for his/her mark. PBL "How does Design Impact Flight?" - Today we started by watching a brief ornithopter video and discussed how it flapped its wings to continue giving itself thrust and lift. Then we created our own ornithopter gliders. After lunch we went outside and catapulted our gliders on the first beautiful day of spring. We came inside and discussed the impact of our design and our catapulting abilities.
Daedalus & Icarus - Next, we watched a video reading of the myth Daedalus & Icarus. We stopped the video and made predictions about how Icarus' father would react to hi flying too closely to the sun - not listening. We discussed the main idea/moral of the story. (advanced communication skills, higher level thinking skills).
Centers - We'll get to centers next week. I had to go to the doctor in the afternoon.
