Analogies - 15+7 is to 19 as 22+34 is to _____ (higher level/critical thinking skills).
PBL/Ocean - Yay! We finally finished our Ocean Books. These will be showcased with our ocean animal designs at the next PBL. Talk to your child about what recycled materials he/she will need to create an animal of choice (higher level thinking & advanced research skills).
Creativity – We created, illustrated, and presented our very own super heroes. Ask your child about his/her super hero and the super power(s) it possesses. Look for unique powers i.e. something other than strength, flight, etc. (creativity & communication skills).
Critical Thinking – Today we worked on sorting “Limpets.” The children had to catch and sort “Limpets” into four categories. Students created the labels for the categories and were given the freedom to sort accordingly. A couple of kids missed centers because they had a tough time with this sorting activity (higher level thinking skills).
Game Centers: Dizios, Q-Bits, Keva blocks, Rush Hour, Qwirkle, iPads (problem solving, higher level thinking, logic reasoning).
